7 Segment LED Display – Common Cathode
The 7 Segment LED Display (Common Cathode) is a compact numeric display module widely used in digital electronics projects for displaying numbers and basic characters. It consists of seven individual LED segments arranged in a figure-eight pattern, making it ideal for clocks, counters, calculators, timers, and measurement devices.
In the common cathode configuration, all segment cathodes are internally connected together. Individual segments are activated by applying a HIGH signal to the required anode pin through a suitable current-limiting resistor. This design is commonly preferred in digital circuits and microcontroller applications.
The display comes in a standard DIP package, making it easy to use with breadboards, Arduino boards, and DIY electronic projects.
